How we met...

We met at a mutual friends house in 2002. He was living in Delaware at the time and would come up some weekends. We would always flirt and there was a definite connection there. A few months later (Feb. 1, 2003- yep, my birthday!) they convinced him to come up because I was asking about him. And he did and we really hit it off from there...after a year of commuting back and forth from and to Delaware we moved in together here in NJ. And the rest is history!

The proposal...

Ugh! Were do I begin?! It started off awesome, we went together to pick out the ring. We thought we had the perfect ring with Kay Jewelers and turns out it was a complete nightmare! They told us it would take 10 days for a simple resizing and a month later we still had not recieved the ring. The fact that everyone in our lives knew and kept wondering where the ring was didnt help the fact. After many arguements at Kay, we canceled the order and went to a local shop (recommeded by my Aunt) and he made the whole experience what it truely should be, perfect. This time around we decided not to tell ANYONE until it was on my finger! Waylon took me out to dinner after we picked up the ring and swore he hadnt talked to my parents yet and was insistant that he talk to them before it went anywhere near my finger. So we get to the resturant and he tells me he is going to talk to my parents after we got done dinner. I have to be honest, I was a bit disappoint-after all this time I just wanted it on my finger already! But I figured, whats one more day right? haha. So we order food, he lifts his hand and opens the box and says the most romantic words ever... "You can finially wear it now"!!! I just laughed and told him I knew he talked to my parents already! But he totally threw me off with telling me he hadnt with such a straight face-which of course was his plan! It may not be the most romantic proposal but given the chance I would not change ANYTHING. I absolutely LOVE my ring and couldnt imagine having anything different on my finger forever!!!
